Q: Do I have to be a psychologist to use a good assessment tool?
A: No. At Inner View, we use a tool that was developed to be used by non-psychologists. While some reports require training for in-depth interpretation (we can provide that if you don’t wish to learn how to interpret), most reports require no interpretation training at all. They are user-friendly and self-explanatory.
Q: Do I run the risk of legal problems if I use assessments?
A: The instrument we use is valid and reliable. It is also legal, i.e. it is non-discriminatory and does not seek to probe behaviours that are unrelated to the workplace. It is therefore safe to use, provided that you maintain a non-discriminatory process. An example of a discriminatory process would be running assessments on all the male applicants but none of the female applicants.
Q: Do you guarantee the outcomes?
A: No. There is no behavioural assessment tool (to our knowledge) that perfectly predicts human behaviour under every single circumstance. However, the reports will definitely show strong behavioural tendencies.
Q: How does it work?
A: By means of a self-report questionnaire that can be administered on line or as a pencil-and-paper exercise. The profilee completes the questionnaire and the software calculates the results and produces the reports.
Q: Can the profilee cheat?
A: Yes, but an attempt to “second-guess” the questionnaire will be picked up by the system.
Q: How much time does it take to complete the questionnaire and when will I get the results?
A: It takes about 30 minutes to complete the questionnaire. If you use our bureau service (outsource to us), we will email results to you within 24 hours of questionnaire completion. If you decide to become an in-house user, you can produce the results just as soon as the questionnaire has been completed. Report production requires only a couple of mouse-clicks.
Q: Do you assess intelligence?
A: At Inner View, we focus only on behavioural assessment. We can, however, recommend you to other sources if you wish to run intelligence (abilities) tests.
Q: How do I try before I buy?
A: We recommend that you complete the questionnaire personally. That way, we can provide you with a sample report based on your own completion and you can judge accuracy and comprehensiveness for yourself.
